I can't thank Run Strong and specifically Sarah enough for completely changing my life. For my first 37 years, I was a vehement non-runner. The thought of running to the mailbox, let alone a 10K filled me with dread and apprehension - and it hurt! After finally listening to Sarah, my very persuasive and encouraging Run Strong coach, I signed up and trained for an 8K. That was over 9 months ago and I'm still running. I've completed several races, including 2 10Ks in that time and I've signed up for a half marathon! I've lost weight, but more importantly have gained the strength, confidence, and endurance I need not only to run, but also to succeed in my daily life. I will be a die-hard Run Strong client and fan as long as I have 2 working legs and there are roads to run on. You will not find more hardworking and dedicated coaches who will stop at nothing to help you achieve your goals than at Run Strong. I offer this testimonial from the bottom of my heart, with sincere love and gratitude.

I loved training with Run Strong for the 2008 Richmond Half because it forced me to commit to my group. It motivated me and I had the support to do the long runs, which I dreaded. I learned so much about hydration, cross training and prevention of injuries. I highly recommend Sarah and Todd's group. I met some wonderful people who were just like me -novice runners who just wanted to complete a half marathon. In fact I ran the whole half marathon, beat my old time even after enduring 6 blisters. I hope to train with Run Strong for my third half marathon in Spring 2009-Shamrock.

Sarah changed my life. At 40 years old, I never thought that I would call myself a runner. I met Sarah shortly after I gave birth to my 3rd child. I was anxious to start exercising again, but was limited because of childcare and financial issues. Sarah encouraged me to try running: “If I can do it, anyone can do it”. And the truth was, she didn’t “look” like your typical runner, and I believed her. Sarah graciously offered to run with me, and that made all the difference. It’s a huge motivator knowing you have someone waiting on you, and then someone to chat with while you have the breath. Sarah encouraged me to sign up for the Monument Ave 10K (6.2 miles, was she crazy?!), and then we trained together. As an experienced runner, and a member of the 10K training team, she had the knowledge to make a great plan. With her support and encouragement, I ran and finished my first race. I didn’t finish 1st, but I didn’t finish last either!
Over the many miles that we have logged together, Sarah has taught me many things about running and about life. Along the way, I found a way a great way to stay in shape that doesn’t require much advanced planning, childcare, time or money. But most of all, I found inspiration in a friend and mentor.
